Orbie, the Ecological Guru; One of the Xpedition's most important members, is responsible for sharing the findings of the groups work with you.
Orbie gets his name from the Latin word orbis, meaning 'circle'. It is another name for a round object, especially a sphere or planet. He is often referred to as an Ecological Guru.
A Guru is a term denoting a teacher, one who is seen as possessing wisdom and guidance. He specializes in Ecology, the scientific study of the distribution and abundance between organisms and their environment. The environment of an organism includes such factors as climate, weather and distribution of light received from the sun.
Orbie hopes to help develop your knowledge and understanding of our dynamic Earth as part of a complex system. Together, he hopes to explore the science content necessary for you to make wise personal and social decisions related to quality of life, and the management of the Earth's finite resources, environments and hazards.
Orbie continues to strive to help all of the youth of our community become a more Environmentally Informed Person, one who understands the unique aspects of the Earth and appreciates the web of relationships between each of the Earth's spheres.
