- Welcome -
On behalf of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, I welcome all of the students and teachers participating in your classrooms around the world as well as the fans following our team members’ trek via the internet.
Our mission as a company is to celebrate, connect and care for the world we share. Busch Gardens strives to provide an enthusiastic, imaginative and intellectually stimulating atmosphere to help our guests develop a lifelong appreciation, understanding and stewardship for our world. As part of our ongoing commitment to education, Busch Gardens Adventure Camps provide an exciting and motivational experience for students interested in learning more about animals or considering a career in zoology, wildlife conservation or other sciences.
Over the next few weeks, a team of Zoo Educators from Busch Gardens will travel through east Africa, exploring national parks, meeting with rangers and safari guides, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, touring a Masai Village and visiting some of the projects supported by the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund.
Just as our camps encourage new friendships with others who share common interests, I encourage you to follow our team’s progress in Africa through their blog posts and learn more by e-mailing them questions about their experience through the Xpedition website.
Their learnings from this experience will enrich Busch Gardens’ Adventure Camps programs through an increased awareness of the interrelationships of humans and biodiversity, and the need to conserve our valuable natural resources. In time, I hope that their experience will grow into an international resident camp program, offering Busch Gardens Adventure Campers the opportunity to visit Africa for themselves.
