All are in good spirits after long journeys, each climbers literally has come from half a world away. We are enjoying our last night of comfort before heading out for the mountain. Tanzania is beautiful and we have all been welcomed with open arms.
The Mkombo School and Orphanage
Today we had the privilege to visit the Mkombo School and Orphanage. The children were excited to see us, and took us by the hand and showed us their school. Donations were presented on behalf of Busch Gardens, James Monroe Elementary School from Everret, Washington and the Colorado Ancient Order of Hibernians. One of the biggest hits was the Busch Garden’s “Cheetah Hunt” soccer balls. Once each student was properly attired in their camp t-shirts the challenge was on. The Students prevailed defeating the teachers 2-1 in a spirited football match.
